The King is dead. Long live the King.
musicandmedicine:
It truly is amazing what this kid from Gary, Indiana turned out to be. When I heard the news yesterday, I was shocked. I didn’t know if I had heard the radio right or not as it went into a song. The King of Pop dead at 50. When no one had any reason to suspect that he was unhealthy. When he was preparing for a comeback tour.
Regardless of how strange he turned out as a person...

The Dodos - Red and Purple / Eyelids
Red and Purple is such a great song. One or two listens and those drumbeats are stuck in your head for at least a week.

So I’m seeing the Hold Steady tonight at the Music hall of Williamsberg, for the second night of a two night stand.
I also saw them on Tuesday at the Bowery Ballroom (second night of a two night stand) front and center. This was an awesome experience. Where they played all of Separation Sunday (full set list at the bottom). It was a great time, and the first time I hung out...

YOU HAVE TO WATCH THIS VIDEO! There was all caps for a reason; I was attempting to yell at you over the internet. Click and play any (and all) of the songs on here by Anamanaguchi. Described by Oh My Rockness: ”Guitarist/Programmer Peter Berkman hacks into an original Nintendo and manipulates its sound chip to create, along with Ary Warnaar and James DeVito, some of the...

Lamar Odom is obsessed with candy, to the point where he has a personal assistant scouring supermarkets for sugary deals. His “candy carrier” even carefully arranges the candy in Odom’s car, so he can blindly access his stash of Skittles and Honey Buns while driving.
The redness of Lamar’s eyes in this video is purely coincidental.

It’s Twitter, Stupid
This is the article you give to people who don’t get twitter, particularly those who aren’t interested in what you had for breakfast:
And yet as millions of devotees have discovered, Twitter turns out to have unsuspected depth. In part this is because hearing about what your friends had for breakfast is actually more interesting than it sounds. The technology writer Clive Thompson calls this...

Team Ninja (of Ninja Gaiden fame) + Nintendo (of Nintendo fame) = New Metroid game that looks freakin’ incredible!
I don’t play nearly as many video games as I did when I was younger (I mostly just fire up the SNES now and then), but E3 still gets me excited for a ton of games I don’t end up playing.
