Thank You Card.
I was half way through a thank you card for the head of the Student With Disabilities office at my college, when I realized one giant problem.
He’s blind.
Now I need to figure out how to design something for someone who is blind. I could just impress some braille onto a card but I want it to be more than that.
I’ve been experimenting with embossing on paper so I can make a design that goes with the braille.
Maybe I can even sell it, cause I haven’t been able to find some online.
A very interesting problem. I definitely want to do this as an exercise at some point in the future.
Do any of the visual rules I’ve been taught translate to touch? Does the golden ratio still matter? Would a blind person appreciate a compelling tactile experience or do they want pure information?
I wanna know, dammit.
This warrants some research.
