I often buy things based on the packaging. I assume if the packaging is nice the product is good. Very rarely am I disappointed, because when one has the sensibility of making better packaging, he also has the sensibility of making a better product. The two things go together.

Holy cow. Nothing sparks the fire that burns a hole in my pocket faster than Criterion box art. So exquisite. Their use of Gotham is enough to lure me in, but just look at that shade of blue!! Gorgeous. I posted the box art for the Third Man, because it’s a personal favorite of mine and you should all watch it (NOW!), but by sure to check out the awesome art for White Dog.

Cool bottle design for Francis For Coppola presents, made even cooler by this neat little story: “When I was four years old, I played in the basement of our home where my father, Carmine, kept jugs of wine. In my attempt to carry a jug across the room, I slid a pencil through the glass loop in order to pick up the jug. Too heavy to support the weight of the bottle, the pencil snapped in two, and the jug shattered on the floor.
